Toyota/Lexus Recall Over Sudden Stalling

toyota recall

Over half a million vehicles from model years 2018 to 2019 are being recalled due to sudden stalling. Some Toyota and Lexus cars have issues with their fuel pumps, which could cause them to stop working. This dangerous complication in the system could increase your risk of crashing. Cars with this problem are more likely to experience stalling or hesitation when driving at higher speeds. If your fuel pump fails, the driver might notice the engine running roughly. Warning light might also appear, and if the engine might not restart after stalling.

What’s more concerning for drivers is that there is no remedy for this issue yet. According to a spokesperson who represents the parent company of Toyota and Lexus, the issue is being investigated. When asked if the company is aware of any injuries due to this issue, they refused to confirm or deny any incidents. Affected Toyota and Lexus customers can expect to hear about the recall by mid-March. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration campaign number for this recall is 20V012000. If you enter your car’s VIN on the NHTSA website, it will tell you if your car has any open recalls.
