Spring Break Safety Tips

Spring break is one of the most exciting times of the year for teens and young adults. They get to take a well-deserved break from their studies and relax. The good news about being a student in Texas is that you have a ton of fun options when it comes to choosing your spring break destination. However, the most popular spot to travel to is the Texas coast. The warm waters and the relaxing atmosphere make the coastal cities of Texas the number one spot to go during spring break. However, these areas now have a bit of a reputation. College and high school students have been known to go overboard with the parting, so more precautions are being put in place to ensure the safety of everyone.  Here are some things to keep in mind if you’re heading down to the coast during spring break.

Beach Rules

Most locals in the area aren’t fans of their town being overrun during spring break. Because of this, most beaches have a curfew. Normally, it’s right before sundown. However, if you are unsure, you can normally find a sign by the entrance of the beach telling you when the curfew starts. If not, you can find the information you’re looking for on the city website. Another rule to keep in mind is the ban on alcohol. Most beaches in Texas have a ban on alcoholic beverages on the beach. Usually, this is during a set time, so be sure you don’t have any alcohol when the ban is in effect.

More police officers will be sent out on the beach during spring break to make sure these rules are being enforced. Violating these rules can result in a hefty fine, or worse. Remember, these rules are in place to keep you and everyone else safe.
