Nearly 250,000 vehicles have been recalled by Ford in the united states for a door latch problem. According to the recall, the problem is with the latch pawl’s spring-tab design. In high-temperature areas, the latch can degrade quickly, and leave the door insecure after being shut. A fix has already been developed and those affected by the recall can take their vehicle to their local dealership for a latch that won’t degrade in high temperatures, free of charge. Owners will be notified starting May 4, 2020.
Affected Vehicles:
- 2014 and 2015 Ford Fiesta models built at Cuautitlán Stamping and Assembly Plant from Nov. 1, 2013, to Dec. 4, 2014.
- 2014 to 2016 Ford Fusion sedans built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant and Hermosillo Assembly Plant from Nov. 1, 2013, to April 27, 2015.
- 2014 to 2016 Lincoln MKZ sedans built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant from Nov. 1, 2013, to April 27, 2015.
