Monday, an Oklahoma judge ruled against Johson and Johnson on their opioid case in Oklahoma. Johnson and Johnson have been ordered to pay $572 million. Johnson and Johnson were charged with being a public nuisance for their role in the opioid epidemic in the state of Oklahoma. While this is a major win for Oklahoma and other states pressing charges against the company, the $572 million fell short from the $17 billion the state was asking for. That money would be put toward treatment for addicts and drug prevention programs. However, this is not the last suit against Johnson and Johnson. There are still over 2,000 cases across the country, looking to hold the company responsible.
