Over 5.7 million water bottles are being recalled by Contigo for a “potential choking hazard.” They are also recalling the replacement lids for the same reason. The recall notice posted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission said: “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles and the replacement lids provided in the previous recall, take them away from children, and contact Contigo for a free water bottle.”Consumers who received replacement lids in the previous recall should contact Contigo for the new water bottle.”According to the notice, the company has received “427 reports of the spout detaching including 27 spouts found in children’s mouths.” This is the second time this water bottle has been recalled due to a potential choking hazard.
The affected bottles come in three different sizes: 13, 14, and 20 ounces. The product comes in a variety of colors including stainless steel and plastic. These bottles were sold at Walmart, Target, Costco, and other retailers. They were sold between April 2018 through February 7th for $9 and $24.
