FDA Stops the sale of 44 Different Vape Products

vaping

Last week, the FDA announced that it is looking into seizures said to be caused by vape products. According to the agency, they have received over 120 different cases of seizures caused by vape products. To continue its trend of taking the vaping epidemic seriously, the FDA has pulled 44 different vaping products off store shelves. So far, the reasoning isn’t over health concerns, but over marketing. According to the FDA, these companies did not have the proper marketing authorization. Apparently, V8p Juice International, Hookah Imports, Liquid Labs USA, and Mighty Vapors are all selling their products illegally. The companies have been given 15 days to respond to the FDA. According to the FDA commissioner, they are using all their tools available to get these products out of the hands of kids.

“We are commited to tackling the troubling trend of youth e- cigareete use by continuing to use all available regulatory tools to ensure these products aren’t being marketing to, sold to, or used by kids. It is critical that we remain vilgilant in our efforts to stem the increase in use and nicotine addiction in childern driven by e-cigarettes, which threatens to erase the years of progress we’ve made combatting tobacco use among kids.” -Ned Sharpless, M.D (Acting FDa Commissioner)

A number of studies have been raising concerns that e-cigarettes may cause long-term health risks. The truth is that we don’t know the long-term effects that vaping may cause. Different flavorings used to entice teens to try to products, and contamination is among the issues the FDA is facing on its crusade to stop teen vaping.
