Back in December of 2016, a large sinkhole opened up in the 8400 block of Quintana in San Antonio. The sinkhole is said to be caused by a failed sewer line. Three different people drove into the sinkhole, two survived. The family of the victim who died will share a 15 million dollar settlement with the two other victims and SAWs. The construction firm, the engineering firm and the engineer working on the project that caused this issue were all sued. SAWs will share in the settlement, receiving $5,000,000 from both companies for the costs of repairing the road and the sewer line. SAWs was also sued by the three plaintiffs, but they brought up their own lawsuit against the construction and engineering company. This resulted in them receiving one million dollars, being split by the two companies, and not paying out anything to the victims of the sinkhole.
