Subaru Recalls 400,000 Vehicles

recall

A problem with the engine computers and the risk of debris that can fall into motors is causing Subaru to recall 466,000 cars. The vehicles affected so far, are the 2017-2019 Imprezas and the 2018-2019 Crosstreks. According to Subaru, the engine computer might keep powering the ignition coil after the motors are shut off. A problem like this could cause a short in the circuit and blow a fuse. Another issue that affects 205,000 of the same models is the ventilation valves. The Aluminum positive crankcase ventilation valves can fall apart. If this happens, debris can enter the engine, and cause sudden power loss.

What To Do If Your Car is Affected.

If your Subaru has been affected, take your car to the dealership as soon as possible. The dealers will be able to update the system software, replace coils, and front exhaust pipes if needed. These repairs will be free of cost for customers. The recall will begin on December 13th. If you have any additional questions about the recall, call your local Subaru dealer.
